Claire Cotes - Managing Director

Claire is a qualified Management Accountant. She previously worked for Black & Decker and established her own successful cafe business.

Dr Nick Garner - Chief Operating Officer

Nick has extensive, international experience of the healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries from early stage development through to marketed products. He holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from London Business School. Previous appointments included responsibility for European business development and alliance management at Therabel Pharmaceuticals and 3M Healthcare.

Mike Hoskins - Chairman (Non-Exec)

Mike has a background in retail and medical devices. Following a stint as Marketing Director, Wound Management, at Smith & Nephew he was on the Board of BSN Medical (now Essity). He subsequently set up his own medical distribution business, H&R Healthcare Ltd which he sold to Mediq NL in 2021. He owns two medical device businesses focussed on medical textiles located near Leicester, UK. He is also Chair of the charity, the Lindsay Leg Club Foundation, which he originally helped establish.

Trevor Jones - Deputy Chairman (Non-Exec)

Trevor is a Chartered Accountant who prior to taking on his Parafricta role has worked in private equity and venture capital for virtually his entire career. As well as supporting the executive of  APA Parafricta, Trevor manages Finance South East’s angel investment network.

Maureen Coleman - Non-executive Director

Maureen has 20+ years of experience of pharmaceutical product development and strategic planning at Glaxo SmithKline. She was CEO of NovaThera and has consulted to technology transfer groups at Imperial College, Kings College, and Brunel University. She is a Board member of MedInnovate and CNBio.

Euan Venters – Non-executive Director

Euan is a business leader with considerable experience of building consumer goods businesses and brands in the UK, US and Africa. Previous roles have included Global Brand Director for Sanex skin care products, Managing Director of Greene King Brewing and Brands and Commercial Director of the Fair Trade Association. Euan is currently a non-executive director of Hofmeister Brewing Company.

Thomas Yip - Non-executive Director

Thomas represents the interests of APA Parafricta's largest shareholder, Hong Kong based Bernotech Ltd.

Jonathan Day - Board Observer

Jonathan is a qualified solicitor, responsible for equity portfolio management at the FSE Group, including for Parafricta shareholder - the Bedford Business EIS Fund. Jonathan has extensive experience in early stage venture capital investing and sits on several boards.

Tim Farazmand - Board Observer

Tim has 30 years’ experience in mid-market private equity with 3i, Royal Bank of Scotland Private equity and latterly LDC. He now has a portfolio career and works with a number of companies. He was Chair of the British Venture Capital Association in 2014/15.
